The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition, with significant grassroots involvement and major financial support from the City of Corvallis, and assistance from a consultant team from Cogan Owens Cogan is spearheading the creation of a Community Sustainability Action Plan.
Since April 2008, over 200 community members have participated as members of work groups in 12 topic areas. Each work group reviewed community input gathered from hundreds of people who attended town hall meetings in March and June 2008. Their task was to develop long-range, visionary goals and actions to achieve those goals. Since there are already many organizations and programs in our community that are leading us toward sustainability, these were also consulted in the crafting of the Work Group Proposals.
To access the complete set of proposals in spreadsheet format, click on "Reference Guide".
To read large-type, printer-friendly versions of each Work Group Proposal, click on the individual topics listed at the left.
Actions that lend themselves to individual or group work are highlighted.
These Work Group Proposals will form the basis of the Community Sustainability Action Plan, which will be formally presented to Corvallis City Council and the community in December 2008 .
